In some Middle Eastern countries, marjoram is synonymous with oregano, and there the names sweet marjoram and knotted marjoram are used to distinguish it from other plants of the genus Origanum.

It was known to the ancient Greeks and Romans as a symbol of happiness.

Marjoram is used for seasoning soups, stews, salad dressings, sauces, and herbal teas.

In Greece marjoram has been known since ancient times.

The leaves of the marjoram as a spice, usually in meat and fish, but also as a decoction.

Marjoram is a plant related to oregano, with many small and fragrant leaves. Its flowers are white or pink in color and appear from July to October. It is a cold-resistant plant.

Boil a teaspoon of marjoram in a cup of water for 5-10 minutes, covered. Strain and drink the tea.
