Lapacho Pau D’Arco Dried Bark Loose Tea ~ Tabebuia Impetiginosa
Origin: Brazil.
The Lapacho or Pau D'Arco comes from the inner bark of the Tabebuia impetiginosa (or Handroanthus impetiginosus ) tree, which thrives in the rainforests of Central and South America.
Preparation Method (Decoction)
Because it is a hard bark (and not leaves), boiling (decoction) is required to release its components:
Add 1-2 teaspoons (about 5g) of bark to 300ml of water.
Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer for 5-15 minutes .
Let it "rest" covered for another 10 minutes before straining it.
