Greek Savory Dried Cut Leaves Loose Herbal Tea ~ Satureja Thymbra

The Greek trump (Satureja thymbra ), when offered as a dried, ground herb for tea, is one of the most potent and aromatic Mediterranean herbal teas. It is an herb with a strong personality that balances the flavor of oregano and thyme, but with a pepperier and "warmer" aftertaste .

Flavor Profile and Aroma

Particularly intense, spicy and slightly bitter , reminiscent of thyme but more "spicy" on the tongue.

Very strong aroma and penetrating, which is fully released upon contact with hot water.

The leaves are usually cut or shredded, with a gray-green color and a rough texture. 

Preparation Instructions (Decoction)

1. Add 1 teaspoon of dried thyme to a cup of boiling water.
2. Let it steep for 5 to 7 minutes .
3. Strain and enjoy it plain or with a little honey.

In addition to a beverage, the exact same product (dried grated leaf) is ideal for cooking legumes (especially bean soup), as it helps with their digestion, as well as for marinades for grilled meats.
