Description

Authentic Chios mastic tears are natural resin crystals collected from Pistacia lentiscus trees cultivated in southern Chios, Greece. The small and medium tears have a fresh pine, cedar and citrus aroma with a characteristically resinous taste.

Ways to use

Chew a small tear as natural gum, or chill and grind the tears for breads, desserts, ice cream and other culinary recipes. Grinding with a little sugar or salt helps prevent sticking.

Storage

Keep sealed in a cool, dry and shaded place. Refrigerate during warm weather to prevent the resin tears from sticking together.
