Elecampane Dried Cut Root Herb Loose Tea ~ Inula Helenium

The dried and chopped root Elecampane ( Inula helenium ), also known in Greece as Elenio or Inoula , is a traditional herb highly valued for its beneficial properties in the respiratory and digestive systems. It has a strongly aromatic, bitter and slightly spicy taste, as it is rich in inulin and essential oils. 

Method of Preparation

To fully utilize the properties of the hard root, the tea method is recommended instead of a simple infusion:

Preparation: Add dried root to water.

Boiling: Simmer the mixture over low heat with the lid closed.

Serving: Strain and drink hot. Due to the bitter taste, you can add honey or mix it with licorice or ginger.
