Devil's Claw Dried Cut Root Herbal Tea ~ Harpagophytum Procumbens

The Devil 's Claw , with the impressive scientific name Harpagophytum procumbens , is a "warrior" herb from the deserts of South Africa (Kalahari). It owes its name ("Devil's Claw") to its strange, thorny, hook-like fruits. 

The Tasting Experience

Bitter Power: It has a very bitter taste.  In the herbal world, bitterness is considered a sign of potency. 

It pairs perfectly with mountain tea , licorice , or mint to "soften" the tension. Honey is almost essential. 

Uses

The "Drink of Warriors": Desert tribes used it to withstand hardship. Today, many athletes (runners, climbers) drink it after training to "rest" their joints and muscles naturally.

Homemade Massage Oil: You can put the dried root in a jar with olive or almond oil for 40 days in the sun. The result is an excellent oil for rubbing on the knees, waist, and neck.

After Meals: Due to its bitterness, it stimulates the digestive glands.

Instructions to prepare it 

Put 1 teaspoon of root in a pot of water.

Simmer it for 10-15 minutes .

Let it rest for another 5 minutes before straining it.

One cup a day is more than enough to see the difference in your body.
