Description

Finely ground Chios mastic resin from Pistacia lentiscus, produced in Chios, Greece. Its distinctive pine, citrus and resinous aroma is traditionally used in breads, desserts, ice cream, coffee and other culinary preparations.

How to use

Use sparingly because the aroma is concentrated. For easier mixing, combine the powder with a small amount of sugar or another dry ingredient before adding it to a recipe.

Storage

Keep tightly sealed, dry and refrigerated or below 18°C. Heat and moisture can cause pure mastic powder to clump. If clumping occurs, chill briefly before grinding again.
