The 100% Pure Greek Chios Mastic Gum Powder is the ground form of the natural resin of the Pistacia lentiscus. As it is a 100% pure product without additives, the powder is extremely sensitive to heat and moisture, having a tendency to solidify and become a single mass again if not protected. 

Uses: Cooking & Wellness

Due to its intense flavor and aroma of pine and citrus, a small amount (0.1 to 0.3 g) is enough to flavor entire dishes. 

Confectionery: It is a basic ingredient for tsoureki, basilopites, ice creams (kaimaki) and creams.

Beverages: Can be added to tea, coffee or cocktails for depth of flavor.

Supplement: Traditionally consumed to relieve stomach upsets and improve oral hygiene. The usual dose is about 1 gram (half a teaspoon) in the morning on an empty stomach.

Special Storage Instructions

To keep the product in powder form and not sticky:

Refrigerator: It is necessary to store it in the refrigerator or in a very cool place (below 17-18°C).

Moisture Protection: Store in an airtight glass jar and avoid pouring the powder directly onto steaming pots, as water vapor will cause immediate agglomeration.

If it sticks: If the powder becomes "rocky", place it in the freezer for a while and then lightly beat it or grind it again in a blender (for a few seconds) to bring it back together.
