The Pu Erh Black Chinese Loose Tea ( Camellia sinensis ) is a unique, post-fermented tea from the Yunnan province of China, known for its deep earthy aroma and its ability to improve over time. Unlike classic black tea which is simply oxidized, Pu Erh undergoes a special microbial fermentation process that gives it a particularly smooth and full-bodied flavor without the intense astringency of tannins. 

Preparation Instructions

To bring out the layers of its flavor, the following procedure is recommended:

Rinse: Pour hot water over the leaves for a few seconds and discard. This “wakes up” the leaves and removes any dust.

Extraction: Use water at 95°C - 100°C .

Time: 1-2 minutes is enough for the first extraction . Pu Erh can be extracted multiple times (up to 10-12 in some varieties), with each subsequent extraction taking a little longer.
