Origin: The most famous varieties come from Cyprus (Mediterranean Sea) and Messolonghi .

Composition: It usually consists of 100% natural sea salt, lemon zest, natural lemon flavor and sometimes turmeric , which gives it its characteristic bright yellow color. 

It is mainly considered a finishing salt , meaning it is added to the dish just before serving to preserve its texture and aroma.
