Greek St. John's Wort Herbal Tea Whole Bunch ~ Hypericum Perforatum
Origin:Greece
The Greek St. John's wort ( Hypericum perforatum ), also known as sphathochorto , in its traditional form as a whole bunch ( Whole Bunch ) offers an authentic drink with deep roots in antiquity. This form includes the flowers, leaves and stems, preserving the full spectrum of the plant's aromas and active ingredients.
Flavor Profile
The decoction from a whole bunch has special characteristics:
Taste: Described as mild, spicy and woody .
Aroma: It has a fresh, earthy aroma due to the presence of the flowers and stems.
Color: The extraction may give a slightly reddish hue due to hypericin.
Preparation Instructions (Decoction)
Due to the hardness of the stems in the entire bunch, the following procedure is recommended:
Chopping: Break off a small piece from the bundle (about 1-2 teaspoons).
Boiling: Add the herb to 250ml of boiling water.
Extraction: Cover the container and leave for 10-15 minutes . For a stronger, "therapeutic" flavor, you can leave it for up to 30 minutes.
Combinations: Goes great with honey , cinnamon or mixtures with lemon balm and lavender.
