Dried Greek mountain oregano in a bunch, scientifically known as Origanum vulgare, is the most authentic and aromatic form of the herb. It is traditionally hand-picked from the slopes of the Greek mountains during its period of full bloom, when the concentration of essential oils is at its peak

Whole bunch oregano is superior to grated oregano because of its structure:

Freshness: The leaves remain intact on the stem, acting as natural capsules that protect the volatile oils.

Aroma & Flavor: It has an intense, earthy and slightly peppery aroma that only "comes alive" when you rub the leaves between your fingers just before use.

Quality: Greek oregano is considered the best worldwide due to its high carvacrol content (up to 2.4% compared to common oregano), which gives it its characteristic spicy flavor.
