Blue Persian Sea Salt Coarse Grade ~ Blue Crystal Salt
Origin: Middle East.
The Blue Persian Sea Salt in Coarse Grade is one of the rarest and oldest mineral salts in the world. It is mined exclusively from ancient deposits in the Alborz Mountains of northern Iran and owes its unique sapphire color to the sylvite crystal (a variant of potassium chloride), which refracts light creating this optical illusion.
Flavor Profile & Use
Taste: It starts with a very intense salty sensation that quickly turns into a mild, slightly acidic and spicy aftertaste.
Texture: The coarse crystals offer a crunchy experience, making it ideal as a finishing salt .
Gastronomy: It goes excellently with seafood, carpaccio, truffle dishes, foie gras, but also with sweet flavors such as chocolate or caramel.
Benefits & Recommendation
Rich in Minerals: Contains high levels of potassium (up to 13%), magnesium, calcium and iron.
Purity: It is considered "fossilized" salt, free from modern marine pollutants.
Due to its rarity and high price, avoid using it when cooking, as its flavor and color are best enhanced when sprinkled directly on the plate before serving.
