The Black Hawaiian Lava Salt is an exotic sea salt that owes its characteristic color and properties to the blending with activated carbon from coconut shells. The Fine version is ideal for use as a finishing salt, offering a striking visual contrast and a slightly earthy flavor. 

Properties & Benefits

Activated Charcoal: The charcoal contained in salt is known for its detoxifying properties, aiding in digestion and reducing gas in the gastrointestinal system.

Rich in Minerals: Contains trace elements from the Pacific Ocean that are not found in processed salt.

Lower Sodium: Due to the presence of carbon and metals, the sodium chloride concentration is slightly reduced per gram of product.

Culinary Use

Fine black salt is mainly used at the end of cooking ( finishing salt ) to preserve its color and texture: 

Fish & Seafood: Creates an excellent contrast on white fish or scallops.

Meat: Goes perfectly with grilled red meat.

Salads: Adds a "smoky" feel and impressive appearance to green salads or tomato and mozzarella salads.

Cocktails: Used for "rimming" (trimming the rim) in Margarita or Bloody Mary glasses.

Do not use it during boiling, as the black color will dissolve in the water and the aesthetic effect will be lost.
