The ground allspice (Allspice Ground Powder), derived from the dried fruits of the Pimenta dioica tree , is one of the most versatile spices in world cuisine. Its name (Allspice) is due to the fact that its taste and aroma are reminiscent of a combination of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg , with a subtle hint of black pepper.
