Alfalfa Whole Seeds ~ Medicago Sativa

The Alfalfa ( Medicago sativa ), also known in Greece as alfalfa or perennial clover, is a highly nutritious legume called by the Arabs "the father of all foods" due to its high concentration of vitamins and minerals. The whole seeds are used primarily to create sprouts , which are a living superfood for salads and sandwiches.

Alfalfa is considered a "storehouse" of nutrients and is traditionally used to stimulate the body. Contains vitamins A, C, E and K , as well as minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium.

How to Use (Sprouts)

The most common use of seeds is to germinate them at home: 

Soaking: Soak 2 tablespoons of seeds in water for 8-12 hours.

Rinsing: Drain and rinse the seeds twice a day.

Germination: Place them in a jar in a shady place. In 4-6 days, when small green leaves appear, they are ready to eat.
