The Greek Aegina pistachio (P.D.O.) in its roasted and salted version is the trademark of Greek nuts, renowned for its unique aroma and crunchy texture. Characteristics & Nutritional Value

Quality Characteristics: The shell is almost white, the fruit is red-green in color and the mouth is less open compared to American varieties.

Nutrients: It is a rich source of vegetable protein, fiber, antioxidants and vitamin B6.

Benefits: They contain plant sterols that help lower cholesterol and protect the heart. 

Ways of Use

As a Snack: The most common use, excellent accompaniment to wine or ouzo.

In Salads: Whole or broken, they add a crunchy texture to salads with arugula or pomegranate.

Cooking: They are used in sauces (pistachio pesto) for pasta or as a garnish on meats.
