The Dried Greek mountain oregano in grated form is considered worldwide as the most aromatic and flavorful variety.It comes from the plant Origanum vulgare hirtum and is characterized by its high content of essential oils, which give it an intense, peppery and slightly bitter flavor.

Greek oregano differs significantly from other varieties due to the soil and climate of the Greek mountains. 

It has a bold, earthy and spicy flavor with a distinctive burning sensation on the tip of the tongue when fresh.

It has a strong, penetrating Mediterranean aroma due to the high concentration of carvacrol (35–50%).

The shredded leaves are usually dark green to gray-green in color and have a rough texture.

It is the basic spice of Greek gastronomy and is essential for many traditional dishes!
